Does anyone ever write a “worst of (insert year)” post?
This is likely to be my last post of this year. A year of moderate highs and the LOWEST of LOWS.
I started this blog in February this year (a high).
So far, I have published 86 posts (one guest post) and have accumulated just under 10,000 views. I am very grateful for each one of you who has read, shared, commented on my posts.
My most favourite blog post that I enjoyed writing: Yaya Center and the Memories of a Friendship
Best book read: Sing, Unburied, Sing
Favourite song: This is hard to pick to be honest so here is a playlist of my 2018 faves
Favourite Kenyan song: Ayrosh + Kwame – Guuku This is easily the best song out in 2018.
Favourite album: Not sure it is my favourite but it came to me when I needed it. Seinabo Sey’s -I’m A Dream.
Most listened to song according to Deezer: Club Controller
One of the best decisions I made in 2018 was moving from Apple Music to Deezer.
The most fascinating YouTube channel – Lindsay Ellis
Best thing I made: These brownies from Chef Resha.
Best music video: This is a new-ish video and that is why it is in my mind Florence + The Machines – Big God. Awesome video.
Best TV show watched: Bojack Horseman’s Season 5 WAS EXCELLENT. Also started watching Steven Universe after Dot’s prompting and I AM SUCH A FAN!!
Podcasts: In 2018, I picked up a couple of podcasts – Steven Universe, Ghibliotheque, You are not so smart, Misandry with Marcia and Rae and Couples Therapy with Casey and Candice. I was sad that Dear Sugar ended but such is life.
I was also blessed to listen to Esther Perel and Brene Brown. They make me think differently and I love how they think and talk.
